The latest demographic update for New Caney Independent School District shows continued strong growth in the housing market and continued projected growth in student enrollment. Population and Survey Analysts (PASA) presented their findings to the Board of Trustees in April. The report shows a strong enrollment growth rebound in 2021 from 2020 when the pandemic slowed growth to approximately 1% from 2019. New Caney ISD enrollment was up 5.2% in 2021. The PASA report presents low, moderate, and high growth scenarios. The moderate scenario projects nearly 4% annual enrollment growth over the next 10 years or an average growth of 790 students each year during that time. New Caney ISD surpassed 17,000 students during the 2021-2022 school year and will likely surpass 18,000 before the end of 2023.
