Construction on the New Caney Elementary School project in the Tavola West community began in early 2025 and remains on schedule, with completion anticipated in summer 2026 in time for students to begin the 2026–27 school year. Progress also continues on projects at West Fork High School, New Caney High School, and Highlands Middle School which is scheduled to open for the 2027-28 school year.
