January, 2024 - The sidewalks are 95 percent complete. Tile work is nearly complete except around display cases and fire extinguisher cabinets. Masons completed the face brick at the front of the library. Fencing is 20 percent complete. The aluminum canopy is complete. Underground electricity is 98 percent complete. Roofing is 98 percent complete. The underground water is 99 percent complete. The underground plumbing is 99 percent complete. The sanitary sewer is 99 percent complete.
December, 2023 - All sheetrock has been installed. Masons have received all brick to complete the masonry approximately during early January. Roofing is 98 percent complete. The underground electric is 98 percent complete. The underground water is 99 percent complete. The underground plumbing is 99 percent complete. The sanitary sewer is 99 percent complete. August, 2023 - The underground electric is 95 percent complete. The underground water is 99 percent complete. The underground plumbing is 75 percent complete. The sanitary sewer is 95 percent complete. The storm sewer is 90 percent complete. The rough grade is 80 percent complete. The building pad is complete. The paving is 90 percent complete. The fireproofing is complete.
July, 2023 - The structural steel is 95 percent complete. The roof decking is 55 percent complete. The concrete paving is 99 percent complete. The HVAC installation is 20 percent complete. The plumbing, electrical rough-ins, and metal studs are 10 percent complete. The masonry is 33 percent complete. The fireproofing is 65 percent complete.
June, 2023 - The structural steel is 50 percent complete. The roof decking is 40 percent complete. The concrete paving is 90 percent complete. The HVAC installation will start soon. The plumbing and electrical rough-ins and metal stud installation will start soon. Masonry is five percent complete.
May, 2023 - The structural steel for the kitchen and cafeteria areas are up and the subcontractor is actively working on the remaining portions of the building. One more concrete pour remains to finish out the building pad. Paving on the parking lots and driveways is ongoing. Permanent gas, electrical, and water lines are coming soon in coordination with local entities.
April, 2023 - Paving of driveways and parking lots has started. The first portion of the building pad was poured which included the kitchen. A section of the building pad was poured which included the front office area. Concrete is anticipated to be poured every Thursday for the next several weeks until all the building pad and driveways are completed. Materials have begun arriving for the building to rise vertically.
March, 2023 - All underground utilities for the building are in place. Paving started March 21 and is ongoing for the front driveways and parking area. The slab pouring for the campus was scheduled for this month. The HVAC chillers, generator, and other long lead time items have been ordered. The house on East Hammond was demolished so that drive is near completion in preparation for paving.
February, 2023 - Progress was hampered in February due to several days of inclement weather. The foundation is 20 percent complete. The underground utilities are 80 percent complete. Temporary power has been established for construction.
November, 2022 - Construction for the new Porter Elementary campus is under way. Purcell Construction, the contractor for the new campus, began work on the site. They are installing public utilities, clearing land, and grubbing which is removing underground vegetative matter such as roots and stumps. Overall site surveying and staking has been completed. The new campus has been relocated to Loop 494 about a quarter-mile south of its present location.
