The New Caney ISD Board of Trustees awarded a construction contract to Kuhn & Associates, Inc. at its February 2016 regular meeting for re-roofing work at three New Caney ISD campuses as part of the 2015 bond package. The work will take place at Crippen Elementary, Kings Manor Elementary, and New Caney High School. The Board of Trustees also approved a contract for asbestos remediation at Aikin Elementary. Asbestos remediation is a process required under the law prior to building demolition. The Board also gave the district authorization to negotiate and execute a final sale and purchase agreement for land for the early college high school.
Also, NCISD Director of Facility Planning and Construction Richard Gates reported to the Board that the field house at White Oak Middle School is now dried in and interior work will continue through the spring. The project is on time and scheduled to be complete this summer.
