Board of Trustees awards contract for security cameras, card access systems

The New Caney ISD Board of Trustees awarded the construction contract for installation of new/additional security cameras and card access systems to Digital Air Control at its regular meeting Jan. 18, 2016. The installation of new/additional cameras and card access systems will take place at 17 facilities across the district and is scheduled to be complete in the summer of 2016.

Also, NCISD Director of Facility Planning and Construction Richard Gates reported to the Board that construction drawings for Elementary School #10 were 98% complete and 95% complete for expansion/renovations at Porter High School. Construction bids for both projects are planned to go out in February. Also, construction drawings for the district natatorium are 50% complete and 30% complete for renovations/expansion at Kings Manor Elementary School. The bid process for those two projects is scheduled to begin in May. Planning for Infinity Early College is in the early phases of schematic design.

Construction continues on the field house at White Oak Middle School. Gates reported that the steel building frame is complete and that the project remains on schedule. Last, the expansion of the Child Nutrition warehouse (2012 bond) is nearing completion. This is the final project from the 2012 bond project list.
