UPDATES:
August, 2018 - Renovations and additions at New Caney Middle School are complete. Work included kitchen/cafeteria expansion and upgrades, a pre-ag classroom addition, fine arts expansion, updates to the auditorium, and other life cycle items.
July, 2018 - The cafeteria expansion is 75% complete and the kitchen addition is 85% complete. The Fine Arts addition, which includes areas for choir, drama, orchestra, and dance, is 90% complete. A campus-wide, new, central air conditioning and electrical system is 80% complete. The renovations are expected to be complete by August.
February, 2018 - Work at New Caney Middle School is approximately 28% complete overall. Exterior masonry is 55% complete and work on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing has begun along with interior walls.
December, 2017 - The fine arts and kitchen addition are approximately 20% complete overall. Structural steel is about 80% complete. Exterior construction will begin in January.
September, 2017 - Renovation work is complete, including painting and new carpet. The fine arts and kitchen addition are 10% complete overall with foundation work in progress. Site work is 30% complete.
July, 2017 - Construction began this month on additions and renovations at New Caney Middle School. Work on the fine arts expansion has begun, and the cafeteria/kitchen expansion is approximately 10% complete overall.
January, 2017 - Design development is complete, and the project is scheduled to go out to bid in March.
November, 2016 - Design development is approximately 95% complete, and work on construction drawings has begun.
September, 2016 - Design is 35% complete, and floor plans for renovations have been finalized.
June, 2016 - The Board of Trustees approved an agreement for design/construction delivery method to Joiner Partnership, Inc. for additions and renovations at New Caney Middle School at its June regular meeting. Work at New Caney Middle School will include kitchen/cafeteria expansion and upgrades, a pre-ag classroom addition, fine arts expansion, updates to the auditorium, and other life cycle items. The tentative timeline for completion is late fall 2017.
August, 2016 - NCISD Director of Facility Planning and Construction Richard Gates reported to the Board that the design for work at NCMS is approximately 20% complete.
