August, 2018 - Brookwood Forest Elementary, the newest campus in New Caney ISD, celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 14.
Teachers, administrators, parents, and builders of the campus attended the event. BFES Principal Malinda King thanked the administration for the new campus and her staff for their hard work in setting up their classrooms.
NCISD administrators and Board Trustees, along with members of the PHS Cheerleaders, cut a ribbon to celebrate and unveil the campus. Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed refreshments and took tours of the new campus.
July, 2018 - Construction of Brookwood Forest Elementary is approximately 90% complete overall. Landscaping is currently underway outside of the campus and it is expected to open in August.
February, 2018 - Construction of Brookwood Forest Elementary is approximately 48% complete overall. Exterior walls are about 85% complete, and some interior finishes have begun. Paving has also begun.
December, 2017 - Construction of Brookwood Forest Elementary is approximately 40% complete overall. Exterior work has begun and the building is nearing being dried-in, and the brick veneer is approximately 15% complete. Interior mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work is approximately 30% complete, and wall construction is progressing.
September, 2017 - Construction of Brookwood Forest Elementary is approximately 20% complete overall. The foundation is 80% complete, and structural steel is 85% complete. The exterior wall framing has begun.
July, 2017 - Construction of Brookwood Forest Elementary School is approximately 15% complete overall. The foundation is approximately 80% complete, and installation of structural steel is beginning.
May, 2017 - The New Caney ISD Board of Trustees approved a construction contract with Drymalla Construction for construction of Brookwood Elementary School at its April regular meeting. Construction began in May with site utilities and grading work approximately 30% complete.
January, 2017 - Design is complete, and construction documents are 85% complete. The project is scheduled to go out for bid in February.
June, 2016 - The Board of Trustees approved an agreement for design/construction delivery method to IBI Architects for Elementary School No. 11 at its June meeting. Elementary No. 11, with construction scheduled to begin in the spring of 2017, is scheduled to open for the 2018-19 school year.
