Construction is underway on the covered multipurpose turf practice area at West Fork High School, part of Proposition B approved by voters in May 2023. A covered multipurpose turf practice area is a large, open-air training facility designed to support a wide range of high school programs year-round. It features artificial turf similar to competition fields and a permanent roof structure that protects from sun, rain, and excessive heat while remaining open on the sides for ventilation. Covered multipurpose turf facilities enhance student participation, program quality, and instructional time by ensuring consistent access to practice space. They support both athletics and fine arts. Each of the district’s comprehensive high schools will have one of these facilities by the end of the 2023 bond program.
