Demographic update projects continued student enrollment growth
New Caney ISD ranked 3rd in percent student enrollment growth out of all districts in Texas larger than 10,000 students last year, according to the district’s latest demographic study. The study, conducted by Population and Survey Analysts, included the analysis of current student locations, potential growth based on new housing, trends occurring in student relocation patterns, and economic factors relevant to the district. The report included low, moderate, and high growth scenarios over a 10-year period. The moderate report projects approximately 5.2% annual growth on average over the next 10 years. The district has added more than 3,700 students over the last five years, realizing nearly 37% growth during that time.
