UPDATES:

January, 2018 - Infinity Early College High School opened to students Jan. 10. Operating in the New Caney ISD Annex during its first four years, IECHS graduated its first class of students in 2017. The school was recognized in 2017 as one of the top high schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and was selected by Educational Results Partnership and the Institute for Productivity in Education as one of 727 public schools in Texas to receive the title of Honor Roll School.

Early College High Schools are innovative high schools that allow students an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and up to 60 college credit hours. Early college high school students are provided dual credit at no cost to students, offered rigorous instruction and accelerated courses, and provided academic and social support services to help them succeed with increased college readiness. Located on Sorters Road near Long Star College - Kingwood, the school can serve up to 500 students as part of the Texas Early College High School Program.







December, 2017 - Construction of Infinity Early College High School is nearly complete. Final interior finishes are underway and exterior landscaping is approximately 85% complete. Infinity Early College High School will open to students in January 2018. 





September, 2017 - Construction of Infinity Early College High School is approximately 85% complete overall. The rough work on the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing is 98% complete. The interior finishes, including pain, tiling, and glass work, are 75% complete. Exterior work is 75% complete. 




July, 2017 - Construction of Infinity Early College High School is approximately 75% complete overall. Interior walls are nearly completion and windows are being installed. Also, sidewalks are being poured. 




May, 2017 - Construction of Infinity Early College High School is approximately 40% complete overall. Work on the exterior wall system is 80% complete while interior walls, plumbing, and electrical work is 40% complete.

March, 2017 - The project is approximately 15% complete overall. Structural steel and framing is complete, and work has begun on exterior walls and roof decking.





February, 2017 - Photo update for Infinity Early College High School, scheduled to open in the winter of 2017.





January, 2017 - Construction of the new campus is underway. The building foundation and the parking lot are each approximately 60% complete while site utilities including the retention pond, water, and sewer are 40% complete.  





October, 2016 - The New Caney ISD Board of Trustees awarded a construction contract for Infinity Early College High School to Pepper Lawson Construction at its regular meeting this month. Design of the early college campus was completed at the end of the summer. 





September, 2016 - Design is complete, and the project went out to bid this month with a bid date of September 29.

June, 2016 - Director of Facility Planning and Construction Richard Gates reported to the Board of Trustees at its June regular meeting that construction documents for the early college high school are approximately 75% complete. Bids for construction are scheduled to go out in September of this year. 

April, 2016 - Director of Facility Planning and Construction Richard Gates reported to the Board of Trustees at its April regular meeting that design of the early college high school is approximately 80% complete. 

March, 2016 - Director of Facility Planning and Construction Richard Gates reported to the Board of Trustees at its March, 2016 regular meeting that design for the early college campus is 30% complete. 

February, 2016 - The New Caney ISD Board of Trustees gave the district authorization to negotiate and execute a final sale and purchase agreement for land for the early college high school.

June, 2015 - The construction of an early college high school is planned to occur in the first phase of projects associated with the 2015 bond election. Project timeline dates are set for planning and project-management purposes and may be adjusted in response to changing circumstances as work progresses.
